As a multi-national company, EY’s brief sought an environment that was globally recognisable, allowed collaboration between offices, was relaxed and inviting for their new 400 sq/m office space built at Port Moresby.
This job came from a design agency, engaging KAWANA’s capabilities to turn the job around in 5 days – including travel and transfers of materials to PNG.
This project required the production freight and installation of “Environmental Graphics” to the new office space, including, but not limited to, Acrylic Reception Signage, Optically Clear Window Glazing, Frosted Window Glazing, Directional & Wayfinding Signage, Personal ID signage (Desk’s & Lockers).
KAWANA Sydney General Manager Conor Fraser said the logistics for the job were quite in depth. “Due to the hostile nature of the company, Shane, Rowan and Myself decided to travel with the prints and install ourselves,” Conor said. “As we only had five days, Visa’s had to be expedited via the consulate to ensure we would be allowed access to the country. Flights, accommodation, and meals, etc. all needed to be carefully organised as it was not safe to travel the country without a guide/security.”
KAWANA director Shane Moroney said the magnitude of the work was incredible. “Our team managed to install all environmental graphics and signage within three days – a job time-frame usually allocated over three weeks,” Shane said. “It was a massive task, but the team pulled together, and we managed an incredible outcome for the client in such a short period, and in another country.”
